AMOLED (Diodo organico ad emissione di luce a matrice attiva)) is a modern matrix installed in many smartphones and televisions. Translated from English, it means: “Active matrix on organic light-emitting diodes. The main advantage of such screens is the picture’s brightness and contrast. The principle of the technology boils down to the fact that to create an image, light up certain pixels rather than the entire display. This feature makes devices with AMOLED screens characterized by low power consumption.
As for OLED screens, they are rarely used in their pure form due to the peculiarities of the matrix structure. Such displays are not controlled in any way, so when the signal is applied, all the pixels glow the same way. AMOLED screens use an active matrix that allows you to control the color and brightness of the desired LED. OLED screens do not have such a “controller”, so they cannot be used to produce modern devices.
