IPS (in-plane switching) is a type of LCD matrix used to manufacture screens. The production technology was first tested in 1996. Since then, displays with such a matrix are used in many smartphones, tablets, computers, and other equipment. If you start to decipher the concept, you can understand that this is a separate LCD screen type. The main difference is observed only in the arrangement of the crystals. Here, they are not arranged in a spiral but parallel to each other.
Displays with IPS-matrix are characterized by good clarity and contrast, which allows you to look at them even in direct sunlight. The cost of manufacturing such screens is low, so they are installed even in most budget smartphones.
