Face ID (Face Unlock) is a special technology that allows you to unlock your smartphone by face. Owners of Apple’s iPhone 10 first encountered such an option, which worked very well. Thanks to special sensors, the system analyzed more than 30 thousand points on the person’s face. This allowed unlocking the phone both during the day and at night. The user could also grow a beard or change his hairstyle – this would not affect the unlocking accuracy.
If we’re talking about face unlocking on Xiaomi smartphones, it’s much easier. No sensors in the phone analyze the structure of the person’s face. The usual front camera is responsible for everything, so the accuracy of the unlock is slightly worse. And in the total absence of light, it won’t be possible to unlock the phone by face. However, despite this, people actively use Face ID technology and are happy with such an option.
