It has been replaced by more advanced technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. However, if you need to switch channels on your TV, an infrared transmitter is the best solution.
If we are talking about Xiaomi phones, the full use of the capabilities of the IR port allows the application Mi Remote. Usually, this program is installed on the smartphone by default, but if this is not the case, download it from Google Play. To add the remote from the equipment, do the following:
- Click on the plus “+” icon in the corner of the screen.
- Choose the appliances that we will control. For example, let’s choose a TV.
- Specify the model of the TV by selecting it from the list.
- Make sure the remote control works by following the on-screen instructions.
- Save the remote control by specifying the name of the TV.
As a result, you get a full-featured remote control, which is very convenient for changing channels or starting a video.
