The ambient light sensor is an element that detects the level of ambient light and automatically adjusts the brightness of the smartphone screen to this indicator. It is located next to the front camera or at the bottom of the body, remaining almost invisible visually.
The sensor does not work in constant mode. The user can turn it on or off independently. To do this, you need to flip the curtain and check/uncheck the item “Auto” (in some models of smartphones, there is a button “Auto-Brightness“, located separately from the controller).
Automatic adjustment of screen brightness significantly reduces the load on the user’s vision. It is thanks to her that the image always remains soft but clear. The sensor can handle both complete darkness and natural sunlight. At the same time, it selects the optimal brightness level.
It is possible to check the function’s work for a few movements. To do this, bring the phone to any light source and close the sensor with your finger or palm. As a result, the brightness level on the smartphone will be lower, which will signal the performance of the element.
