Dalvik cache is a temporary compilation of application code. Simply put, these are temporary program code files that can take up a significant amount of memory. Let’s start with the fact that this item can not be found directly in the usual section of the smartphone settings. It is hidden in the recovery menu (Recovery). To access it you need to turn off the device completely and then press the volume and power button.
Also, this section can be called differently, for example, Wipe Dalvik/ART Cache. But the essence does not change from this. It is usually recommended to clean it after installing new firmware. You don’t have to worry that the temporary files will disappear. They will be created again at the next system start, if necessary. So, to clear the Dalvik cache through TWRP Recovery, let’s perform the following actions:
- Go to the “Clean” section.
- Select the “Selective Cleanup“.
- Check the “Dalvik/ART Cache” checkbox and swipe.
After that, temporary files will be deleted, which will not affect the phone’s performance.
