The latest Xiaomi phones come with a locked bootloader by default, thus limiting the possibility of changing device settings.
Nowadays, unlocking the bootloader is a time-consuming procedure and not always a good one. You must send an application, wait a certain amount, and get approval from the Xiaomi representative. And thanks to the EDL mode, you don’t have to go through all these procedures. For example, with the help of the ADB Run program and Mi Flash utility, you can install another firmware on the phone.
