Mi Share

Mi Share is a special technology that allows you to share files between devices. This innovation first appeared in the firmware MIUI 11 and works on Xiaomi smartphones with version Android 8 and above. The mode allows you to transfer files at high speed from one smartphone to another phone or laptop. All data exchange takes place by connecting to the same Wi-Fi network. If the devices are connected to different networks, it will not be possible to transfer files between them.

Mi Share technology should not be confused with the ShareMe service (formerly Mi Drop). These are two completely different options because, in the first case, the exchange of files takes place via Wi-Fi, and in the second – via Bluetooth. To enable this mode, go to the following sections of the settings: “Connection” → “Mi Share” → “Move the slider to the right“.

You can also activate the option through the quick access curtain. To do this, you need to open it and find the corresponding item. If the function you want is not there, click on the “Sorting” icon. Find the “Mi Share” icon and move it to the main menu. And to use the technology, go to the standard explorer, highlight the desired file, select “Send” and click on the name of the second device. You can now share files with Vivo, Realme, OPPO, and Xiaomi smartphones.
