AOD

AOD (Always On Display) is a special mode that allows you to display data on a locked smartphone screen. This technology was first implemented on Samsung smartphones, and other companies began using it. The phone must have a display with an Amoled matrix for the function to work. Using AOD on IPS screens makes no sense because the technology is implemented by highlighting certain pixels of the matrix.

The technology saves battery power because every day, the average user unlocks the smartphone more than 40 times. When the option is activated, the locked display can show the time, current date, battery capacity, and notifications. Different animations are available depending on the MIUI firmware version and Xiaomi model. The user can choose in the settings what information should be displayed on the locked screen.
