The barometer is a separate function for measuring altitude in wrist gadgets. Most people associate it with a device that measures atmospheric pressure. But in the case of the active lifestyle watch, the option’s purpose is limited to translating pressure into altitude.
GPS data is used to calibrate the barometer. They are transmitted to the watch from a smartphone, after which the former determines its coordinates and takes this altitude as a reference zero. As a result, when the user with a gadget on his wrist ascends several floors, the system will automatically determine the altitude in relation to the ground.
