What are Super Wallpapers in MIUI 12?

Super Wallpapers on MIUI 12 is a space-inspired live wallpaper. The picture changes depending on the state of the phone. On Always on Display, the planet is shown in the distance. One of the default screensavers that appeared on all Xiaomi flagships after the update to Miüai 12. Several options are presented, depicting the Martian Hale Crater from different angles. The predominant colors are orange and black. The image turns gray at night.

Super Wallpaper Earth

Super Wallpaper Earth is more varied. There are three geolocations to choose from:

• Croatia, Cape Kameniak – the cleft and beach of the Mediterranean Sea.
• China, the rice terraces of Lunji – greenery.
• Antarctica – iceberg.

The AOD and lock screen only shows the Earth itself from space. Specific locations are displayed on the desktop.

Super Wallpaper Saturn

A little later, on MIUI 12, the “Rings of Saturn” super wallpaper appeared in a green color scheme. Always on Display, and the lock screen shows the planet with asteroids flying through its orbit. The main screen captures only part of Saturn (there is a parallax effect).

How to turn on the super wallpaper on your Xiaomi phone

We already told you where to find the super wallpaper in the new MIUI. If your device officially supports such a function, no problems with the inclusion will not arise. Otherwise, you will have to download the necessary Android files and install them yourself.

1. On the desktop, find the “Themes” shortcut.
2. Go to the “Profile” section by clicking in the bottom right corner of the page.
3. Click on the tab “Live Wallpaper”.
4. Choose Mars, Saturn, or Earth.
5. When the screensaver loads in the preview, tap “Change geolocation” at the top. Here you can select a specific location to be displayed on the home screen.

Third-party live wallpapers on Android

Don’t feel bad if your smartphone isn’t on the list of models that support Super Wallpapers. You can install them on any Android phone, regardless of the firmware. The only prerequisite is an Android 8.1 version or higher.

Method #1

There are two guides. The first guide is universal. It will work for Xiaomi products and other companies’ phones. It’s also a great option for smartphones from the Android One line.

1. Download the MIUI wallpaper (Saturn, Mars, or Earth) in apk format from the link attached to this article. On the XDA Developers forum, unfortunately, there is no link.
2. Go to any file manager, look for the apk file, and click on it for automatic installation.
3. Download the Google Wallpapers application and install it in the standard way.
4. Open the program and provide access to the memory of the device. Scroll down the main page until the tab “Live Wallpaper” appears. This should display space screensavers.
5. Open the super live wallpaper and click “Set wallpaper”. Choose “Home and locked screen.” Done.

With this method, you can put any animated wallpaper on Android smartphones. The procedure is quick and simple.

Method #2

If super wallpaper does not work, it is worth using another method. It is designed for Xiaomi and Redmi phones.

1. First of all, download the archive, which will contain the Activity Launcher, Wallpaper, and the screensavers themselves. Do not forget to allow installation from third-party sources.
2. Go to the file manager and install each application in turn.
3. The “Launch Activity“ icon will appear on your desktop. Click it, and agree to the disclaimer. Wait for all the applications to load.
4. At the top of the screen, tap on the magnifying glass and type wallpapers. The line “Superoboys” will pop up.
5. A new window will appear installed super wallpaper with MIUI. Click on “Earth” or “Red Planet”. The preview will start. To change the geolocation, click “Choose a place”. At the bottom of the screen, look through all available options and select the one you like.
6. Lock your phone for a few seconds. Turn it on and see if the screen saver is working.

Everything works fine on my Redmi 7A (MIUI 11 based on Android 10). I haven’t noticed any lags or crashes. But still, note that one hundred percent functionality is guaranteed only on the new shell.
